Frequently Asked Questions

What do we need to bring?

 

We provide blankets, one roll of paper towels, toilet paper, and garbage bags. If you are staying in Main Lodge, or Log Cabin Lodge you will need cups, plates, bathroom towels, pillows, and sheets for either a twin (single), full (double bed), queen, or king. In the Chalet & Cabins all of this is provided.

Do you have sound gear, projectors, TV's, etc?

 

No, however we do have pull down projection screens in the fellowship halls of both lodges (Main Lodge & Log Cabin Lodge).

Do you furnish recreation equipment?

 

Yes, we have basketballs and volleyballs. Feel free to bring baseballs, soccer balls, footballs, etc. to play in the grassy fields. If you would like to rent a boat, kayak, pontoon, jet ski, etc. you can rent these at a nearby marina 3-4 miles away.

What are your check-in and check-out times?

 

Our normal check-in time is 3pm and our normal check-out time is 10am. If your group needs to come a little earlier or stay a little later, please call us to see if these changes will conflict with any other reservation.

Do you have cable TV or Wifi?

 

We do have TV with satellite in the Chalet, Cable TV in both lodges and TV and DVD Players in the Cabins. Wifi is available at the Office, in the Log Cabin Lodge and Main Lodge.

Do you allow pets or tobacco products?

 

Pets are allowed in the campground area only and they must be on a leash at all times. Tobacco products are forbidden inside any buildings. Do NOT smoke in the rooms or use chewing tobacco.

Is there an area where we can cook? What do we need to bring?

 

If you are staying in a Cabin or Chalet there are kitchens inside each building. If you are staying in the Main Lodge or Log Cabin Lodge there are common area kitchens and each contains 2 stoves, 2 ovens, 2 refrigerator/freezers, and a large double sink. In addition, our kitchens are furnished with basic cookware (pots & pans), flatware (utensils, spatulas, ladles), toasters, and coffeemakers. You will need to furnish plates, cups, and any other electrical appliances you may need.

How close are you to area attractions?

 

There are three marinas between 3-4 miles away (Mountain Cove Marina, Mountain Harbor Inn & Marina, and Lighthouse Pointe Marina). Each marina offers boat rentals, but only Mountain Harbor offers boat, kayak, and jet ski rentals. In addition, about 4 miles away you will find a sandy beach at the Douglas Dam Headwater Campground. Other reasons to visit this area include attractions in the Sevierville area (NASCAR SpeedPark Smoky Mountains = go carts, Tanger Outlet = shopping, Forbidden Caverns, Douglas Lakeview Stables). The Pigeon Forge area (Dollywood, Dixie Stampede Dinner Attraction, Titanic Museum Attraction, Hollywood Wax Museum, Country Tonite Theatre, The Comedy Barn Theater). The Gatlinburg area (CLIMB Works, Gatlinburg Sky Lift, Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies). In addition, there are other cool attractions not far from Mountain Lake Ranch including: Great Smoky Mountain National Park is 20 miles, Knoxville Zoological Gardens is 23 miles, University of Tennessee is 27 miles, Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort is 27 miles, Crescent Bend House & Garden is 28 miles (antiquing), Cades Cove Riding Stables is 39 miles (horseback riding), Museum of Appalachia is 44 miles, Ghost Town In The Sky is 76 miles (amusement park), Nantahala Outdoor Center is 84 miles (rafting), Bristol Motor Speedway is 89 miles, Biltmore Estate is 96 miles (historic mansion).

What activities can we do on the ranch?

 

You can use our volleyball court (net and ball are provided), play basketball in our gym (goal and ball are provided), bring your own fishing pole to enjoy our stocked fishing pond (catch & release) or fish on Douglas Lake (you will need a Tennessee fishing license), go for a hike and explore our property, read a book outside on your porch, or have a quiet evening around a bonfire.
